Why Professional??

Raise your hand if you have ever been to Walmart or the grocery store to buy your hair color! Don't worry my hand is up too!! At some point most women will turn to "box color", but most also learn their lesson. I sure did. When I was in High School I turned my hair a nice orange shade a week before my senior prom, and it wasn't pretty ;) I quickly headed out to get it "fixed". Having a corrective color service will most of the time cost you at least TWICE of what you would have paid for your hairdresser to color your hair in the first place.

Professional stylists take many things into consideration when mixing your color formula. Especially when you already have color on your hair.
Here are just a handful of factors:
  • Natural Color (which will be the regrowth)
  • Existing hair color
  • Skin tone
  • Density of the hair
  • Porosity of the hair
All of these factors (and more) will determine how the color will look on you and how your hair will "take" the color. It is not as simple as picking a color in the swatch book and simply applying that one color.(In most cases)

Example: One of my clients comes every 4-5 weeks to have her regrowth covered and ends refreshed. I have to use a separate formula for her hairline that is 1 shade lighter than the formula I use for the rest of the regrowth and to refresh the ends. Why? Because for some reason her hairline sucks up the color and will turn out darker than the rest of her hair.

Point: Everyone's hair is different, and your hairdresser can customize your color experience for the best results!

Happy Hair Day
